This map shows unique reported incidents from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s NIBRS CSV files, with occurrence dates from January 2021 onward. For months whose official CSV is not available yet, provisional records supplement the map.
One incident can contain several offenses or victims. Filters match any offense within an incident, but each incident is counted once. These counts are not official NIBRS crime totals.
Monthly files also update older incidents. Supplements replace the incident’s previous offenses; incidents later marked unfounded are removed. Published locations can be approximate. Records without usable coordinates remain in totals but cannot appear on the map.
The default 90-day range ends at the newest available data. Provisional data is checked every four hours; its source normally updates once daily. It covers selected crime types and is less complete than the official CSVs. Its categories are separate from NIBRS; NIBRS and firearm filters cannot include records that lack those fields. A month’s provisional records are retired only after that month’s official CSV finishes importing. This is not a live incident feed.
